We applaud all those who have transitioned from observance, to frustration, to taking action. Knowing something is up is one thing but crossing the line to speak up is a process to be celebrated. Elon is certainly one of those who has crossed the line. Principles before profit is rare, especially in the group-think world of Big Tech. Thankfully, the bravery of a few is inspiring others to stand up. In this striking statement that encompasses fear, challenge and hope, Elon points out what many of us quietly believe. But, why is Christianity at risk of perishing, what are the drivers for this, what intentional mechanisms are at play? How can we “stand up”? And ultimately, where does this all end?
The West is intentionally being deconstructed. Attempts are being made to eradicate its Christian foundations. This mechanism has been played out elsewhere before many times over thousands of years and so we can define its constituent components. What is happening today follows the exact same well-trodden paths of yesteryear.
What mechanisms are at play?
Let’s go right to the root of the matter. Unsurprisingly, the original sin of individuals wanting to pull away from what is “fair and right” is at play. It’s a mindset that believes I am somehow missing out. This leads to a sense of aggrievement and the designation of an external force/person/authority who is the source of our problems. In the West today, New Marxism embodies the feelings of an aggrieved individual into a totalitarian authority. Indirectly, God is labelled as the oppressor and the thinking goes that if we can deconstruct the Christian God out of society and His ways, we will enter into an era of freedom. For example, those who consider as oppressive the clear Biblical standard that there are two genders, and in post-truth fashion identify as a different gender, are told they will be liberated if they are dismissive of the Biblical standard.
Standing up by Standing Against
A condition of state overreach is necessary for the enforcement of the New Marxist ideals – that the state is your guardian, your protector, provider and source of truth. These ideals include: post-truth, religious pluralism, pro-Islam, LBGT+ activism, attack on the family unit or any authority structure that has the potential to resist New Marxist values, porous national borders, increased taxation as a means to reinforce the new ideals, abortion and politicised science to name a few. Recognising these ideals is a first step in understanding the nature of what we are dealing with. Once we understand, we can stand against.
Is Christianity at Risk of Perishing?
Yes and no. Over the past 100+ years or so Christianity has accelerated at one of its fastest rates in its 2000-year history. It has gained many followers throughout the world, especially outside of the West. It has withstood many attacks from both within (pseudo-Christian religious organisations that do not recognise a life lived in submission to God and his Word) and without (Communism, Islam, secular deconstructive doctrines). It is also true that within the Islamic world in recent decades, Christians have been all but stamped out due to sustained violence and oppression. We also know that the Hebrew scriptures (aka the Old Testament) and the Christian New Testament both testify that a concerted effort will be made by a one world global system just prior to the end of our current existence to wipe out both the Christian Church and the nation of Israel. Jesus also referred to a, “great falling away” the timing of which may coincide with the great persecution or sometime just before then.
In the short term, we believe there is measurable risk of Christianity perishing in the West if no resistance is offered. But, we are hopeful the tide is already turning. People are speaking up, the mindset of the West is still very much based on reason and logic, even in the face of post-truth feelings. And, we are still in the majority. But staying silent, hoping that things change needs to be recognised for the failed approach that it is.
Bravery – the Vital Ingredient
The arguments of New Marxism are as water-tight as a bullet-ridden metal bucket in an advanced state of oxidisation. We, the majority know this. We know that at our finger tips there is still universal, absolute truth that can easily deconstruct the politics of the Left. We are not in need of a new philosophy. Combating the decline involves crossing the line to speak up. It involves bravery. Bravery can be manifested by anyone anywhere.
Live with Purpose
To stand up for what is fair and right involves speaking out. Despite the risk of rejection, do it anyway. It is not hyperbolae to state the survival of the free West is at stake. Your individual contribution no matter how seemingly small can and will make a difference.
A word of advice, Jesus said to his disciples, “I am sending you out like sheep surrounded by wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves”. With regards to standing up for what is fair and right, this means we are to speak from good character and with intentions that have other’s best interests at heart. But is also means we are going to have to be strategic in picking our battles and consider if we are prepared for the cost. Winning some strategically considered battles may be better than trying to win every battle that comes across our path.
